Conveyor belt repair patches and repair strips are both used as tool materials for conveyor belt repair. When you are not familiar with them, you may have questions. What are the differences in the materials used for conveyor belt repair patches and repair strips? Which material is more suitable for repairing conveyor belts?

In fact, the material used for repairing the conveyor belt patch and repair strip can be said to be exactly the same. Both are made of wear-resistant rubber on the front, with a semi vulcanized CN layer on the back. The reinforced patch and repair strip also contain a fabric reinforcement layer. Through the vulcanization reaction between the semi vulcanized CN layer and the cold vulcanized adhesive SC2002, the adhesive adhesion is further improved, achieving the same level of adhesive strength as hot vulcanization. The tensile and wear resistance of the front rubber protects the damaged core layer of the conveyor belt from complex stress and harsh external environment. The reinforced repair strip can also strengthen the structure of the conveyor belt.

The main reason for the difference in the use of conveyor belt repair patches and repair strips is due to the different specifications of the two. For example, the specifications of repair strips mainly include several widths such as 100/150/220/300/400mm, and each roll of repair strip is 10 meters long. During each use, it is necessary to cut appropriate sized repair strips to bond and repair the conveyor belt.

The repair patch can be seen as a diamond shaped fixed size repair strip, with the main specifications of 135 * 160/200 * 260/270 * 360/450 * 470mm. The diamond shaped repair patch leaves sufficient adhesive hands-free around the conveyor belt wound, providing strong adhesive force, and can effectively and quickly achieve good repair results for small rubber defects on the surface of the conveyor belt, as well as local injuries such as conveyor belt punctures.

So the difference in purpose between the two lies in the repair patch repairing small-scale local damage. The repair strip can not only repair small-scale damage, but also stick and repair long-distance conveyor belt scratches, tears, etc. Since the functions of repair patches and repair strips overlap, there are still two types of products. Of course, because repair strips are 10 meters per roll and can only be purchased in whole rolls, the cost is much higher than repair patches. When the usage is small, repair patches become a better choice.
