When making hot vulcanized joints, due to various factors such as environment, construction technology, etc., water vapor or air may remain in the gaps of the rubber material and the steel wire rope. If it is not cleaned at that time, it will cause bubbles to exist in the joints after hot vulcanization, leading to quality problems in the conveyor belt joints.
Next, let's take a look at the causes and solutions of bubbles appearing after the vulcanization joint of the conveyor belt.
1. Excessive humidity in the air can cause residual moisture in the vulcanized joint.
Solution: Preheat the vulcanized board to 60-70 ℃ before laying the adhesive.
When laying the upper and lower cover adhesive, there are residual bubbles in the middle when the RIT unvulcanized core adhesive and unvulcanized surface adhesive stick together, causing bubbles to appear in the joint.
Solution: Strictly follow the process flow of gluing during gluing. After applying the hot vulcanizing agent, lay the core glue and surface glue flat, stick and compact. If there is still residual gas that cannot be eliminated, use an art knife to cut open the area with bubbles to completely eliminate the gas inside, and then compact.
When using unvulcanized cover rubber and unvulcanized core rubber for splicing, try to avoid overlapping as much as possible. Overlapping can easily lead to unevenness, and when laying the next layer of adhesive, there will be gas residue in the uneven areas, which is difficult to eliminate. When docking, try to connect them together without leaving any gaps in the middle, otherwise gas residue may occur.
3. When laying glue and steel wire rope, both the glue and the adhesive between the glue and the steel wire rope need to be coated with hot vulcanizing agent, and the hot vulcanizing agent should be completely dry. Otherwise, water vapor may be generated during the subsequent heating process, which cannot be discharged and remains in the joint.
Solution: When applying hot vulcanizing agent, try to apply it evenly to avoid accumulation and difficulty in drying thoroughly. Wait for the hot vulcanizing agent to dry thoroughly before applying adhesive to avoid water vapor residue in the joint during heating.
When arranging steel wire ropes, it is inevitable that there will be gaps between the ropes, and there will inevitably be residual gas at the gaps, and it is also difficult to eliminate the residual gas inside during the subsequent glue laying process. Causing bubbles to appear in the joint.
Solution: After laying and repairing the upper cover adhesive, use an art knife to cut the upper cover adhesive. When tightening the bolts, they should be locked one by one from the middle of each vulcanized plate to both ends, which is conducive to the discharge of gas between the rubber material and the steel wire rope gap. The process of pressure relief and secondary pressurization is also beneficial for the gas discharge between the gaps of the rubber material and steel wire rope.
Of course, in addition to the above situations, there may also be situations where the vulcanization joint is too hard due to inadequate vulcanization, and the belt bonding surface is not cleaned thoroughly, resulting in bubbles, warping, and other conditions. When construction personnel encounter related situations, they must analyze the specific problem and find a suitable solution based on the relevant reasons for handling.
