The belt conveyor cleaner is very important for coal operations. This is mainly determined by the characteristics of coal materials, which have a high powder ratio, moisture content, high humidity, and viscosity. During the operation of the belt conveyor, coal dust will adhere to the surface of the belt. If not thoroughly cleaned, it will affect the safety of equipment operation. Especially in the winter when the temperature is low in the north, sticky dust is frozen. Once it gets caught in the belt drum, it forms uneven hard blocks on the surface of the drum, changes the diameter and shape of the drum, and accumulates to a certain extent, which will inevitably cause damage to the belt conveyor and even cause major mechanical damage accidents such as belt tearing.
In actual operation, problems with belt cleaners often lead to system equipment failures or affect system operation efficiency. For example:
1. Belt deviation. When coal dust gets entangled in the belt conveyor system, it can cause the belt to run off, causing malfunctions and shutdowns, affecting production efficiency.
2. Damaged drum. After the bonded coal powder is drawn into the drum, it causes the surface glue of the drum to fall off, causing damage to the drum and even leading to belt tearing accidents.
3. The roller is worn. Coal ash is carried onto the return roller, which is bonded and increases the rotational resistance of the roller, leading to roller wear and even belt damage. Severe cases can lead to major accidents such as fires.
4. If dust is generated and the belt is not cleaned thoroughly, new dust points need to be formed. Coal dust is carried into the return belt and scattered along the line during operation, causing dust pollution to the working environment.
In short, the cleaner is very important in the belt conveyor system. If the belt cleaner is not good, it will not only cause system failures, affect work efficiency, and cause environmental pollution, but also may lead to safety accidents.
