How to improve the efficiency of conveyor operation with a buffer bed

1. Replace the discharge hopper of all coal feeders and tilt it at a certain angle. Add a buffer element (buffer bed buffer strip) at the bottom to prevent large coal gangue from directly hitting the conveyor belt, reducing its impact force on the conveyor belt.

2. Lengthen the material guide grooves and conveyor belts at all coal drop points, and add a 3-5M mesh type material guide protective net. After the large coal gangue falls, it is blocked by the protective net and moves forward in the direction of conveyor belt operation, without getting stuck or falling between the roller frame and the return section conveyor belt.

3. Add a set of metal reinforcement brackets (also known as buffer beds or buffer chutes) between the two sets of roller frames. The welding joints of the buffer beds are repaired by welding to increase the strength of the buffer beds. Several sets of buffer strips are added above the buffer chute mouth to reduce wear on the conveyor belt and absorb the impact force when coal gangue falls, so that the metal brackets will not be damaged.

4. Add a buffer bed (buffer chute) at the lowest depression of all belt conveyors, that is, add a metal reinforcement bracket (buffer bed) between each roller frame to reduce the span of the roller frame at this point. The conveyor belt will transport coal gangue through the low-lying area and no longer sag inside the roller group.

5. The fixing of the buffer bed and buffer strip adopts a self-locking connection method with anti loosening nylon screws. Each buffer strip needs to be fixed to the steel rail of the buffer bed with 4 bolts to prevent it from jumping up and down or swinging left and right, and to avoid falling off or jumping. It does not affect adjusting the tension of the conveyor belt according to the working conditions, nor does it affect the normal operation of the tensioning buffer device.

6. Strengthen the daily maintenance and upkeep of conveyor safety protection devices, ensure that various protection devices are agile and reliable, and prevent the belt conveyor from running without protection for a long time.

Through the above rectification, the probability of conveyor belt damage has been reduced from 56.4% to 12.1%, which will greatly improve the operating efficiency of the conveyor.
